Salary

  • Class 1–5: ₹25,000/- per month
  • Class 6–8: ₹28,000/- per month

Eligibility Criteria (As on 01 August 2025)

  • Citizenship: Must be a citizen of India
  • BSSTET 2023 Qualified:
    • Paper-I for Class 1–5
    • Paper-II for Class 6–8
  • RCI Registration: Valid CRR number issued by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)

For Class 1–5 (Basic Grade)

  • Higher Secondary (10+2) with minimum 50% marks
  • D.El.Ed in Special Education or equivalent Diploma from RCI-recognized institution with valid CRR number
  • Six months of cross-disability training

For Class 6–8 (Graduate Grade)

  • Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50% marks
  • B.Ed in Special Education or equivalent from RCI-recognized institution with valid CRR number
  • Six months of cross-disability training

Qualification Relaxation:

  • SC/ST/EBC/BC/PwD candidates get 5% relaxation in minimum qualification

Age Limit (As on 01 August 2025)

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age:
    • UR Male: 37 Years
    • UR Female / BC / EBC: 40 Years
    • SC / ST (Male & Female): 42 Years

Additional Age Relaxation:

  • 10 years for BSSTET 2023 qualified candidates (1st recruitment only, as on 01 August 2023)
  • No upper age limit for eligible Panchayati Raj / Urban Local Body teachers
  • 5 years for regular Bihar Govt. employees (max 5 attempts)
  • 10 years for PwD (Divyang) candidates
  • 3 years + service period for ex-servicemen (max age: 57 years)

Application Fee

  • General / OBC / Other State: ₹750
  • SC / ST / PH / Female (Bihar): ₹200
  • PwD (40%+ disability): ₹200
  • Biometric Fee: ₹200 per category if Aadhaar not submitted

Exam Pattern & Syllabus

For Class 1–5

  • Part-I: Language (Qualifying) – 30 Questions
    • English (compulsory) + Hindi/Urdu/Bengali
    • Minimum 30% required to qualify
  • Part-II: General Studies – 120 Questions
    • Topics: Elementary Mathematics, Mental Ability, General Awareness, Science, Social Science, Indian Movement, Geography, Environment
  • Total: 150 Questions | 150 Marks
  • Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes
  • No Negative Marking
  • Syllabus Level: Based on SCERT/NCERT

For Class 6–8

  • Part-I: Language (Qualifying) – 30 Questions
  • Part-II: General Studies – 40 Questions
    • Topics: Elementary Mathematics, Awareness, Science, Indian Movement, Geography
  • Part-III: Subject Paper – 80 Questions
    • Subjects: Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit, English, Mathematics & Science, Social Science
    • Social Science Candidates must choose:
      • Section-I: History or Geography
      • Section-II: Political Science or Economics
  • Total: 150 Questions | 150 Marks
  • Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes
  • No Negative Marking
  • Syllabus Level: SCERT/NCERT-based

Minimum Qualifying Marks

  • General: 40%
  • BC: 36.5%
  • EBC: 34%
  • SC / ST / Women / PwD: 32%

Candidates not meeting minimum marks will be disqualified
Re-evaluation: Not permitted

Merit List Criteria

  • Class 1–5: Based on General Studies marks (Part-II)
    • Tie Break: Language (Part-I) → Age → Devanagari Alphabetical Order
  • Class 6–8: Based on General Studies + Subject Paper (Part-II + III)
    • Tie Break: Subject Paper (Part-III) → Language (Part-I) → Age → Devanagari Alphabetical Order

Additional Instructions

  • Maximum 5 exam attempts allowed
  • All certificates (including BSSTET) must be issued on or before 28 July 2025
  • Certificates issued after the deadline will not be accepted
