Exam Pattern – 2025

  • Total Marks: 100 (80 marks theory + 20 marks internal assessment)
  • Theory Paper Question Types:
    • 20% Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
    • 50% Competency-Based Questions (case/source-based, reasoning, application)
    • 30% Short and Long Answer Questions

Syllabus – 2025–26

  • Subject-wise syllabus PDFs available on the CBSE Academic Portal.
  • Core Subjects: English, Hindi (Course A & B), Mathematics (Standard/Basic), Science, Social Science.
  • Optional / Elective Subjects: Computer Applications, Home Science, various regional languages, foreign languages, vocational subjects such as Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

Major Changes & Updates – From 2026 Session

  • Biannual Board Exams:
    • First Attempt: February–March (mandatory for all students).
    • Second Attempt: May (optional for improvement in up to three subjects).
    • Best score from the two attempts will be considered for the final result.
  • Mandatory APAAR ID:
    • Unique 12-digit Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry ID for Classes 9–12.
    • Serves as a lifelong digital academic identity.
  • Revised Exam & Registration Fees:
    • Slight increase in fees from the 2025–26 academic session.
  • Strict Attendance Policy:
    • Minimum 75% attendance required to appear for board exams.
    • Valid exemptions allowed only with proper documentation.

  • First Phase (Main Exam): 17 February 2026 to 06 March 2026
  • Second Phase (Improvement Exam): 05 May 2026 to 20 May 2026
