CUET PG 2025 – Admission Overview

The Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate (CUET PG) 2025, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is a national-level entrance examination for admission into postgraduate programs across over 150 participating Central, State, Deemed, and Private Universities in India. The exam is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and allows candidates to apply for multiple subjects through a single platform.

Important Dates:

  • Application Form Start Date: 02 January 2025
  • Application Form End Date: 01 February 2025 (extended to 08 February 2025 in some cases)
  • Application Correction Window: 10 to 12 February 2025 (originally 03 to 05 February 2025)
  • Advance City Intimation Slip Release: Second week of March 2025
  • Admit Card Release: 3–4 days before the exam (Phased release on 08, 16, and 22 March 2025)
  • Exam Dates: 13 March to 01 April 2025
  • Provisional Answer Key: 22 April 2025
  • Answer Key Challenge Window: 22 to 24 April 2025
  • Final Answer Key: 06 May 2025
  • Result Declaration: 06 May 2025
  • Counselling: From mid-May 2025 (conducted by individual universities)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; final-year students in 2025 also eligible
  • Age Limit: No age restriction for appearing in the exam (university-specific age rules may apply)
  • Nationality: Indian citizen
  • Additional Requirements: Some universities may require specific subjects or minimum percentage

Exam Pattern and Structure:

  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  • Duration: 90 minutes per paper
  • Total Questions: 75 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) per subject
  • Marking Scheme:
    • +4 for each correct answer
    • -1 for each incorrect answer
    • 0 for unattempted questions
  • Medium: English and Hindi (exceptions apply to certain language, M.Tech, Acharya, and higher science papers)
  • Exam Shifts:
    • Shift 1: 09:00 AM – 10:30 AM
    • Shift 2: 12:30 PM – 02:00 PM
    • Shift 3: 04:00 PM – 05:30 PM
  • Test Papers: Candidates can choose up to 4 test subjects

Application Fee (for 2 Papers):

  • General: ₹1,200
  • OBC-NCL / EWS: ₹1,000
  • SC / ST / Third Gender: ₹900
  • PwBD: ₹800

Additional Paper Fee (Per Extra Subject):

  • General: ₹600
  • OBC-NCL / EWS / SC / ST / Third Gender: ₹500
  • PwBD: ₹400
