Overview:
Indian Air Force invites online applications from eligible unmarried Indian male and female candidates for Agniveer Vayu Intake 01/2026 under the Agnipath Scheme. The selection includes Online Test, Physical Fitness Test, Adaptability Tests, and Medical Examination.

Important Dates:

  • Notification Release: 18 or 19 December 2024
  • Online Application Start: 7 January 2025 (11:00 AM)
  • Last Date to Apply: 2 February 2025 (extended from 27 January 2025)
  • Online Exam Start: From 22 March 2025 onwards
  • Result Declaration: 7 May 2025
  • Phase II Admit Card: 4 July 2025
  • Phase II Exam Date: July/August 2025
  • Provisional Select List (PSL): 14 November 2025
  • Enrolment List Release: 01 December 2025

Application Fee:

  • ₹550/- + GST for all categories
  • Payment Mode: Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI

Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit:

  • Date of Birth: Between 01 January 2005 and 01 July 2008 (both inclusive)
  • Minimum Age: 17.5 years
  • Maximum Age at enrolment: 21 years

Marital Status:

  • Only unmarried male and female candidates eligible
  • Must undertake not to marry during 4-year engagement
  • Female candidates must not be pregnant during engagement

Educational Qualification:

For Science Subjects (Group X):

  • 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics & English with 50% aggregate and 50% in English
    OR
  • 3-Year Diploma in Engineering (Mech / Electrical / Electronics / Auto / CS / Instrumentation / IT) with 50% aggregate and 50% in English
    OR
  • 2-Year Vocational Course with Physics and Mathematics and 50% aggregate and 50% in English

For Other Than Science Subjects (Group Y):

  • 10+2 in any stream with 50% aggregate and 50% in English
    OR
  • 2-Year Vocational Course with 50% aggregate and 50% in English

Domicile Categories:

  • Permanent Domicile: Certificate issued by Revenue Department
  • COAFP (Serving): Children of serving Air Force personnel
  • COAFP (Retired/Deceased): Children of retired/discharged/deceased IAF personnel with proof of residence

Physical Standards:

Height:

  • Male: Minimum 152.5 cm
  • Female: Minimum 152 cm (relaxable to 147 cm for NE/Uttrakhand hills, 150 cm for Lakshadweep)

Chest:

  • Male: 77 cm with 5 cm expansion
  • Female: Well-proportioned, 5 cm expansion minimum

Weight: Proportional to age and height

Vision:

  • 6/12 each eye, correctable to 6/6
  • Myopia: -1D
  • Hypermetropia: +2D
  • ±0.50D Astigmatism
  • Colour Vision: CP-II
  • PRK/LASIK not allowed

Hearing: Normal (forced whisper from 6 meters)
Dental: Minimum 14 dental points
Tattoos: Allowed only on inner forearms or back of hand (permitted for tribal customs)

Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

Male:

  • 1.6 km run in 7 minutes
  • 10 Push-ups
  • 10 Sit-ups
  • 20 Squats

Female:

  • 1.6 km run in 8 minutes
  • 10 Sit-ups
  • 15 Squats

Selection Process:

  1. Phase I – Online Written Test
    • Science Subjects: 60 minutes (Physics, Maths, English – CBSE 10+2)
    • Other Than Science Subjects: 45 minutes (English, RAGA)
    • Both: 85 minutes (combined subjects)
    • Negative Marking: 0.25 per wrong answer
  2. Phase II – Document Verification, PFT, Adaptability Test I & II
  3. Phase III – Medical Examination
    • Includes: Chest X-ray, ECG, Blood tests, Ultrasound (female), etc.

    • Class 10 certificate

    • Guardian signature (if under 18)
  • Pay the application fee
  • Submit and download/print confirmation
