About Exam:
The Indian Army invites applications for the 66th SSC (Tech) Women Course commencing in April 2026. This includes vacancies for women engineering graduates and widows of defence personnel under SSCW (Tech) and SSCW (Non-Tech) [Non-UPSC] entries.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality:

  • Indian Citizen
  • Subject of Nepal
  • Person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam (eligibility certificate required)

Age Limit (as on 01 April 2026):

  • SSCW (Tech)-66: 20 to 27 years (Born between 01 April 1999 to 31 March 2006)
  • Widows Entry: Max 35 years

Educational Qualification:

  • SSCW (Tech)-66: Passed/Appearing in final year of BE/B.Tech in relevant disciplines
  • SSCW (Tech) Widows: BE/B.Tech in any stream
  • SSCW (Non-Tech) Widows: Graduation in any stream

Note:

  • Final year students must submit proof of passing by 01 April 2026
  • Any variation in stream name leads to disqualification
  • Candidates whose final exams are after 01 April 2026 are not eligible
  • Degrees must be from recognized universities
  • Minimum cumulative percentage must meet cut-off set by the board

Physical Standards (Minimum for Women Cadets)

  • 2.4 Km Run: 13 Minutes
  • Push-Ups: 15
  • Pull-Ups: 02
  • Sit-Ups: 25
  • Squats: 2 sets of 30 reps
  • Lunges: 2 sets of 10 reps
  • Must know basic swimming

Selection Process

  • Shortlisting: Based on cumulative percentage and vacancy
  • SSB Interview: 5-day process at Allahabad, Bhopal, Bengaluru, Jalandhar
  • Medical Examination: For SSB recommended candidates
  • Final Merit List: Based on SSB marks and stream-wise vacancy
  • Joining Letter: Based on merit, eligibility, and vacancy

Training Details

  • Duration: 49 Weeks
  • Location: Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai
  • Cost: ₹16,260/week (to be recovered from voluntary withdrawals)
  • Conditions:
    • Marriage not allowed during training
    • Training at govt expense
    • PG Diploma in Defence Management & Strategic Studies awarded

Commission & Tenure

  • Granted Short Service Commission (SSC) in rank of Lieutenant
  • Engineering graduates get 1 year ante-date seniority
  • Widows (Non-Tech) not eligible for ante-date seniority
  • Initial service: 10 years (extendable up to 14 years)
  • Option to apply for Permanent Commission in 10th year

Pay Scale & Allowances

Stipend During Training: ₹56,100/month

Rank-Wise Pay Levels:

  • Lieutenant: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 (Level 10)
  • Captain: ₹61,300 – ₹1,93,900 (Level 10B)
  • Major: ₹69,400 – ₹2,07,200 (Level 11)
  • Lieutenant Colonel: ₹1,21,200 – ₹2,12,400 (Level 12A)
  • Colonel: ₹1,30,600 – ₹2,15,900 (Level 13)
  • Brigadier: ₹1,39,600 – ₹2,17,600 (Level 13A)
  • Major General: ₹1,44,200 – ₹2,18,200 (Level 14)
  • Lt. General HAG: ₹1,82,200 – ₹2,24,100 (Level 15)
  • Lt. General HAG+: ₹2,05,400 – ₹2,24,400 (Level 16)
  • VCOAS/Army Cdr/Lt. Gen (NFSG): ₹2,25,000 (Fixed)
  • COAS: ₹2,50,000 (Fixed)

  • Fill and submit application
  • Take 2 printouts after final submission

For Widows of Defence Personnel (Offline):

Documents Required for SSB Interview

  • Printout of Application (2 copies, 1 signed with photo)
  • Matriculation/10th certificate (DOB, name of self & parents)
  • 12th marksheet/certificate or equivalent
  • Degree/Provisional Degree + all semester/year mark sheets
  • Conversion formula certificate from University
  • Final year appearing certificate from Head of Institution
  • Declaration to submit passing proof by 01 April 2026
  • Identity/Domicile proof
  • Widows must also submit:
    • Part II Order of marriage
    • Death certificate of husband
    • Casualty reports and Physical/Battle Casualty Certificate
    • Attested by appropriate military office

Important Instructions

  • Submit only one application; multiple entries will be cancelled
  • Defence service candidates must inform their Commanding Officer
  • AC-3 Tier or bus fare reimbursement for 1st time SSB candidates
  • Qualifying at SSB does not guarantee final selection
  • No requests for changing SSB center/date allowed
  • False/incomplete info leads to disqualification
  • Candidates debarred by UPSC or convicted/withdrawn on disciplinary grounds are not eligible
