Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification:
Passed Matriculation (10th Class) with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a board recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India - Musical Ability:
- Proficiency in playing at least one instrument of Indian or foreign origin
- Must be able to perform solo and in a group (ensemble)
- Ability to read Indian or Western musical notation is desirable
- Candidates with experience in Indian classical/folk or western music will be preferred
- Required Certificates:
- Hindustani/Carnatic (wind instruments): Certificate from recognized institute
- Western music (wind instruments): Initial grade certificate from Trinity College London or Royal School of Music
- Others: Certificates of participation/awards in competitions/events
Physical Fitness Standards:
For Male Candidates
- Minimum Height: 157 cm
- 1.6 km Run: 6 min 30 sec
- Squats (Uthak Baithak): 20
- Push-ups: 12
For Female Candidates (as per original Navy standards)
- 1.6 km Run: 8 min
- Squats (Uthak Baithak): 15
- Bent Knee Sit-ups: 10
Visual Standards:
- Uncorrected Vision: 6/12
- Corrected Vision: 6/6
- Colour Perception: CP Pass
Medical Standards:
- Medical examination will be done by authorised Military Doctors
- Minimum height: 157 cm (both genders)
- Permanent tattoos allowed only on inner forearms or back of hand
- Female candidates must not be pregnant at joining or during service
- Good mental and physical health required
Selection Process:
- Shortlisting:
- Based on marks obtained in Matriculation and musical certificates
- Candidates with higher percentage and earlier date of birth may be preferred if marks are the same
- Stage I – Preliminary Screening:
- Musical Test

- Stage II – Final Screening:
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
- Music Ability Test
- Recruitment Medical Examination
- Police Verification
- Final Merit List:
- Based on All India Merit from Music Ability Test performance
- Final Enrolment at INS Chilka, Odisha
Training:
- Commences in September 2025 at INS Chilka, Odisha
- Final Medical Examination before joining
Salary and Benefits under Agnipath Scheme:
- Duration of Service: 4 Years
- Monthly Salary (Approximate):
- 1st Year: ₹30,000 (In-hand: ₹21,000)
- 2nd Year: ₹33,000
- 3rd Year: ₹36,500
- 4th Year: ₹40,000
- Seva Nidhi Package: ₹10.04 Lakh (Tax-Free) after 4 years (₹5.02 Lakh Govt + ₹5.02 Lakh Agniveer contribution)
Other Benefits:
- Life Insurance: ₹48 Lakh (non-contributory)
- Death Compensation: ₹44 Lakh + insurance
- Disability Compensation: ₹15 to ₹44 Lakh depending on percentage

Enrolment into Regular Cadre:
- After 4 years, up to 25% of Agniveers may be selected for permanent enrolment as sailors in Indian Navy based on performance and organisational requirements
