NEET PG 2025 – Entrance Exam for MD, MS, and PG Diploma Admission

NEET PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Postgraduate) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by NBEMS for admission to MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses in medical colleges across India. It is a mandatory qualifying examination for pursuing postgraduate medical education in both government and private institutions. NEET PG is conducted annually in a computer-based mode and is recognized under the NMC Act, 2019. Foreign medical graduates and foreign nationals are also eligible under specific criteria. The exam ensures a centralized, uniform, and transparent selection process for PG medical seats in India.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must possess an MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI)
  • Must complete one-year compulsory rotatory internship on or before 31 July 2025
  • Must hold permanent or provisional registration issued by NMC/SMC
  • Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs): Must qualify FMGE, complete internship by 31 July 2025, and be registered with NMC/SMC
  • Foreign Nationals: MBBS qualification must be recognized by NMC, and Ministry of Home Affairs clearance may be required
  • Age Limit: No upper age limit

Exam Pattern:

  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  • Language: English only
  • Total Questions: 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Duration: 3.5 hours (9:00 AM to 12:30 PM)
  • Marking Scheme:
    • +4 marks for each correct answer
    • –1 mark for each incorrect answer
    • 0 marks for unattempted questions
