Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released the Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 03/2025 to recruit candidates for various paramedical posts in different railway zones. Eligibility Criteria
Nationality:
- Indian citizen, or
- Citizen of Nepal/Bhutan, or
- Tibetan refugee who arrived before 01.01.1962, or
- Person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries intending permanent settlement in India.
Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026):
- Lower limit ranges between 18 and 20 years depending on post.
- Upper limit varies from 33 to 40 years depending on post.
Upper Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: +5 years
- OBC-NCL: +3 years
- PwBD: +10 to +15 years depending on category
- Ex-Servicemen, Railway staff, widows/divorced women: As per notification rules
Educational Qualifications (Post-wise as per Annexure A):
- Nursing Superintendent: Registered Nurse and Midwife with 3-year GNM course or B.Sc. Nursing with relevant experience
- Pharmacist (Entry Grade): 10+2 with Diploma in Pharmacy plus registration under Pharmacy Act, 1948 or B.Pharm degree
- Dialysis Technician: B.Sc. with Diploma in Haemodialysis or two years of in-house training/experience
- Health & Malaria Inspector Gr. II: B.Sc. with Chemistry as main/optional subject plus one-year Diploma in Health/Sanitary Inspector or National Trade Certificate
- Radiographer X-ray Technician: 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry plus 2-year Diploma in Radiography/X-ray Technician/Radiodiagnosis Technology
- Lab Assistant Gr. II: 10+2 in Science plus Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or equivalent certificate course
- ECG Technician: 12th pass plus Diploma in ECG Technology
Candidates must possess qualifications by 08.09.2025. Candidates awaiting results are not eligible.
Medical Standards
- Posts require medical standards B1, C1, or C2 depending on post, as per Indian Railway Medical Manual.
- LASIK candidates are eligible for B1 standard under specific conditions.
Reservation
- Vertical reservations: SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS as per Government of India rules.
- Horizontal reservations: PwBD & Ex-Servicemen (post suitability in Annexure A).
- Economically Backward Class (EBC) eligible for fee concession only, no reservation.

Selection Process
- Computer Based Test (CBT):
- 100 multiple-choice questions
- Duration: 90 minutes
- Marks distribution:
- Professional Ability (post-specific): 70 questions
- General Awareness: 10 questions
- General Arithmetic & Reasoning: 10 questions
- General Science: 10 questions
- Negative marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer
- Normalisation for multi-shift exams
