Eligibility Criteria (as on 01 July 2025):

  • Age Limit: 30 to 45 years (Age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, PwD, Ex-servicemen, and dependents of Freedom Fighters as per Government rules; no upper age limit for SCI departmental candidates)
  • Educational Qualification:
    • Degree from a recognized university in India
    • Proficiency in English Shorthand with 120 w.p.m. speed
    • Computer knowledge with 40 w.p.m. typing speed
    • Minimum 5 years’ regular service as Private Secretary, Senior PA, PA, or Senior Stenographer in Govt./PSU/Statutory bodies
    • Law Degree (BGL/LLB) will fetch an additional 3 marks during selection

Application Fee:

  • General/OBC/EWS: ₹1500
  • SC/ST/PH: ₹750
  • Payment Mode: Online (Debit/Credit Card, UPI, Net Banking)

Pay Scale:

  • Level 11 of the Pay Matrix
  • Initial Basic Pay ₹67,700 + DA, HRA, TA and other admissible allowances

Selection Process:

  1. Shorthand Test (English)
    • Dictation: 7 minutes @120 w.p.m.
    • Transcription: 45 minutes
    • Max 5% error allowed
    • Max Marks: 100 | Qualifying Marks: 50
  2. Objective Written Test (100 Marks | 2 Hours)
    • Subjects:
      • General English: 25 questions
      • General Knowledge: 25 questions
      • Judiciary provisions in Constitution: 25 questions
      • Supreme Court Rules 2013: 15 questions
      • Computer Knowledge: 10 questions
    • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50 (General), 45 (Reserved)
  3. Typing Speed Test (10 Minutes @ 40 w.p.m.)
    • Error Limit: 2% (General), 3% (Reserved)
    • Max Marks: 20 | Qualifying: 10 (General), 5 (Reserved)
  4. Interview
    • Max Marks: 30 | Qualifying: 15 (General), 13 (Reserved)
    • Law Degree (BGL/LLB) carries 3 additional marks
  5. Document Verification & Medical Examination
