The SSC Junior Engineer (JE) Examination 2025 is conducted to recruit eligible candidates for Group ‘B’ (Non‑Gazetted, Non‑Ministerial) Junior Engineer posts in various central government departments. This exam aims to fill vacancies in Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical engineering disciplines across departments like CWC, CPWD, BRO, MES, and other participating organizations. Selected candidates will be appointed at Level‑6 pay scale as per the 7th CPC, with opportunities to serve in different technical roles across India.

- Notification Released: 30 June 2025
- Online Application Start Date: 30 June 2025
- Last Date to Apply Online: 21 July 2025 (up to 11:00 PM)
- Last Date for Fee Payment: 22 July 2025 (up to 11:00 PM)
- Application Correction Window: 26 – 28 July 2025 (earlier 01–02 Aug 2025 for some posts)
- Paper‑I (Tier‑I) Exam: 27 – 31 October 2025 (Tentative)
- Paper‑II (Tier‑II) Exam: January – February 2026 (Tentative)

Group & Pay Scale:
- Group ‘B’ (Non‑Gazetted, Non‑Ministerial)
- Level‑6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400) as per 7th CPC Pay Matrix
- Approx. In‑hand Salary: ₹44,000 – ₹52,000/month (varies by posting)

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026):
- Up to 30 Years: Most posts (Born between 02‑01‑1996 to 01‑01‑2008)
- Up to 32 Years: CPWD, CWC (Born between 02‑01‑1994 to 01‑01‑2008)
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years (additional for reserved categories)
- Ex‑Servicemen: 3 years after service deduction
- Others: As per SSC rules
Eligibility Criteria (as on 01 January 2026):
- Nationality: Indian citizen, or as per SSC norms (Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugee, PIO migrants)
- Educational Qualification:JE (Civil):
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering
- OR Diploma in Civil Engineering (some posts require 2 years relevant experience)
JE (Mechanical):
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- OR Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (some posts require 2 years relevant experience)
JE (Electrical):
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
- OR Diploma in Electrical Engineering (some posts require 2 years relevant experience)
Note: Some departments accept diploma holders without experience. Refer official notification for post‑wise criteria.

- BRO Only: Physical Efficiency/Standard Test
- Final Merit List based on combined marks of Paper‑I & II
Exam Pattern:
Paper‑I (Tier‑I – CBT):
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: 50 Marks
- General Awareness: 50 Marks
- General Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical): 100 Marks
- Total: 200 Marks | Time: 2 Hours
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer
Paper‑II (Tier‑II – CBT):
- Technical Subject (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical): 300 Marks
- Time: 2 Hours
- Negative Marking: 1 mark per wrong answer

- Complete Aadhaar-enabled One-Time Registration (OTR)
- Login and select “JE (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical) Examination 2025”
- Fill personal, academic & exam preference details
- Upload photograph (100×120 px, 4–12 KB) & signature (40×60 px, 1–12 KB)
- Pay fee online (if applicable) and submit before 21 July 2025
- Use correction window between 26 – 28 July 2025 if required
