- Current Class: Studying in Class 8 in 2023–24 academic session
- Previous Class Result: Minimum 55% marks in Class 7 (50% for SC/ST)
- Parental Income Limit: Annual income must be below ₹3,50,000

Selection Process:
- Exam Format: State-level test with two papers
- Mental Ability Test (MAT): 90 questions | 90 marks | 90 minutes
- Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT): 90 questions | 90 marks | 90 minutes
- Subjects: Mathematics, Science, Social Studies
- Marking Scheme: No negative marking
- Qualifying Marks:
- 40% aggregate in MAT and SAT (32% for SC/ST)
- Must meet cutoff criteria
